Choosing a name for your daughter can be a very time-consuming process. You want to get it just right!
This is perfectly natural, because a person’s name says a lot about them, according to parenting.com.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that people scroll tirelessly through Google search results, trying to find the perfect name for their child. In fact, they can spend so much time searching for the perfect first name, that the middle name can play second fiddle.
That’s why I’ve been putting together my How To Choose A Middle Name series. With a quick glance, you can find the perfect middle name for your daughter!

The importance of picking a good middle name for your daughter
There are people out there who do not have a middle name, but there are definitely not many.
It seems nowadays that almost everyone has a middle name, so it has become a given that people choose a middle name for their babies. Even though there’s no law saying you have to have one.
Still, a middle name is a good choice because that extra name between your first and last can have a lot of benefits!
Here are 3 big reasons you should think and research carefully about a good middle name that goes well with Ella:
A middle name lets you preserve even more family or other important names
Many people decide to name their children after people who are important to them. Unfortunately, having to choose one person over another can sometimes lead to hurt feelings.
If you give your daughter a middle name, it helps alleviate some of those choices, because now you have the option of honoring more than one person!
All you need to do is to make sure that the names flow together nicely!
Their middle name can, and might, become their nickname
When you choose a middle name for your daughter, make sure to steer clear of any potentially embarrassing options.
In other words, keep in mind that your child’s middle name is very likely going to be used as her nickname.
Your daughter might even decide to go by her middle name full time, as many kids do.
Middle names give kids another option when it comes to how they would like to be addressed, which for a lot of kids is a big deal.
They feel they have more control over their name.
The full name power play
Anyone who has been on the receiving end of a full name warning knows that when it’s done right, it can be very effective.
It’s the classic, “ELLA MARIE THOMPSON, HOW DID YOUR DOLLS END UP IN THE TOILET!?”
Every child knows that when mom plays the FULL NAME card, it means BIG trouble.
It might mean big trouble, but it’s also a great test for choosing the perfect middle name.
Practice your different options by using the full name warning and see if it rolls easily off of your tongue.
This is almost a good enough reason all by itself to give your child a strong middle name!
(Almost, I said!)
