The name started picking up in popularity beginning in the 1990s, peaking in about 2005.
The name Connor came in at number 577 on the popularity list for boy’s names of 2021, moving down almost 100 places since 2020.
The name also comes from the Irish Gaelic word Conchobhar, which many believe to mean “lover of hounds” and “lover of wolves.”
