One of the biggest decisions new parents face when they find out that they are expecting is what to name their new baby.
It’s definitely not a decision to be taken lightly, especially since your child’s name has a big influence on how others see him or her.
(Some studies claim that your name can affect your personality and even the shape of your face!)
It should come as no surprise then that people spend hours upon hours scrolling through Google search results in pursuit of the perfect name for their child. The only problem is that people spend so much time trying to find the perfect first name, that the middle name is often an afterthought.
That’s why I’ve been putting together my How To Pick A Middle Name series. So with a quick glance, you can find the perfect middle name for your son or daughter!
Scroll down this post to find a list of the best middle names for a girl OR boy named Quinn.
I’ve compiled these from baby name databases, parent discussion forums, and other sources then whittled them down to the ones I personally think sound the best.
Hope it helps!
The importance of picking a good middle name for your child
Sure you don’t have to give your child a middle name; there’s no law that says you do. However, nowadays it’s pretty much expected.
When it comes down to it, whether or not you want to give your child a middle name is completely your choice.
Still, a middle name is a good choice because that extra name between your first and last can have a lot of benefits!
Here are 3 big reasons you should think and research carefully about a good middle name that goes well with Quinn:
A middle name lets you preserve even more family or other important names
Some people absolutely dread having to name their child because they know there will be people whose feelings get hurt.
This is because there always seems to be more than one person who wants you to honor them with your child’s name.
A middle name gives you the opportunity to name your child after multiple important people in your life.
All you need to do is to make sure that the names flow together nicely!
Their middle name can, and might, become their nickname
Ever notice how parents agonize over the perfect first name for their child, only to have their child use their middle name permanently once they are old enough?
Kids will be kids, and let’s face it, for kids using their middle names is just cool.
Even if your child doesn’t end up using her middle name as her permanent moniker, odds are it will be the jumping-off point for her nickname. So make sure you steer clear of any embarrassing options.
The full name power play
The classic full-name warning; it can strike fear into the heart of even the bravest. “QUINN MARIE HOWARD, PUT DOWN THAT LIZARD!”
Every child knows that when mom plays the FULL NAME card, it means BIG trouble.
This is a great way to find a middle name for your child! Test out your different choices by using the full-name warning. If it’s easy to say, then you’ve found your winner!
This is almost a good enough reason all by itself to give your child a strong middle name.
