Having kids means making lots of changes, from redecorating rooms to loading up on all sorts of supplies, like diapers, wipes, and bibs. It also means making a bunch of decisions, including what to name your baby.
If you’re about to welcome baby number two, or three, or more, the challenges multiply.
This process requires some extra thought because you want to make sure it sounds good with your other kids’ names!
Searching online for the perfect sibling names can take a while, so it’s understandable if you get burnt out and tempted to settle on something that sounds okay. But you know you’d probably regret it later.
That’s why I’ve decided to start compiling a series of The Best Sibling Names. Now, you’ll have one easy place to look to find name options that will mesh well with your existing child.
Without any further ado, here are the best sibling names for a girl named Eleanor.
I’ve compiled these from baby name databases, parent discussion forums, and other sources, then whittled them down to the ones I personally think sound the best.
Hope it helps!

My favorite name for Eleanor’s brother is Everett, and my favorite name for Eleanor’s sister would have to be Evelyn.
I like the alliteration of these names with Eleanor and how both names have three syllables. There are so many choices, though, so you should pick the ones that sound the best to you!
Meaning of the name Eleanor
As you look up names for your new baby, you’ll also come across what the names mean. Understanding what Eleanor means can help your decision-making, as you may want to choose names with compatible meanings.
According to BabyCenter, Eleanor has Old French origins and, interestingly enough, doesn’t appear to have one defined meaning. A close likelihood is that it is a variation of the name Helena, which has Greek roots and means “light.”
Eleanor is number 38 on BabyCenter’s popularity list for girl names for 2022. It’s moved down about five spaces since 2021.
Some famous people named Eleanor are American astronomer Eleanor Helin, an only child, and Eleanor Roosevelt.
But, an interesting fact, Eleanor was not Eleanor Roosevelt’s first name; it was Anna. She preferred to be called Eleanor and had two biological brothers, Hall and Elliot.
